This presentation will introduce how valuation and forensic accounting teams assist clients and counsel in navigating the financial complexities of divorce. We’ll discuss how a clear, independent financial analysis can reduce conflict, foster informed decision-making, and streamline resolution for all parties involved. Attendees will gain insight into the process, the types of analyses typically preformed, and how collaboration between financial experts, attorneys, and clients helps ensure a smoother, more efficient divorce process.

About the Speakers

Nicholas Oldack, ASANick Oldack, ASA is a Managing Director at MH Litigation Valuation and Forensic Services, Inc. With a wealth of experience in business valuations, Mr. Oldack has provided expert services across a variety of situations, including family law matters, estate and gift tax issues, mergers and acquisitions, business damages, shareholder disputes, malpractice litigation, and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). His diverse industry experience includes, but is not limited to, cryptocurrency and digital assets, real estate holding companies, construction, professional services, staffing, medical practices, hospitality (full-service bars and restaurants), franchise operations, product and packaging design, manufacturing, software development, and transportation services.

Mr. Oldack specializes in forensic accounting involving cryptocurrency, a complex and rapidly evolving asset class. He is frequently sought after as a speaker at national conferences, where he shares his deep knowledge of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and the techniques required to uncover hidden assets in digital forms. His expertise in this niche field positions him as a trusted consultant for clients navigating the complexities of cryptocurrency in legal disputes, particularly in the context of divorce and matrimonial litigation.

Mr. Oldack also has significant expertise in matrimonial dissolution cases, where he assists clients with forensic investigations, settlement negotiations, and litigation support. He regularly serves as an expert witness, offering his specialized knowledge in business valuation and forensic accounting. Mr. Oldack has been qualified as an expert in these fields in Connecticut courts and is recognized for his ability to clearly communicate complex financial matters to judges.

Matthew-BattipagliaMatthew Battipaglia is an Analyst at MH Litigation, Valuation, and Forensic Services, Inc., where he focuses on matrimonial litigation and business valuations. In his role, Mr. Battipaglia provides analytical support in matters involving income and cash flow analysis, equitable distribution, property settlements, valuations of closely held businesses and business interests, and reasonable compensation assessments. He has contributed to engagements across a diverse range of industries, including alternative asset management, construction and engineering, restaurants, and medical practices.

Mr. Battipaglia is currently pursuing the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, further strengthening his expertise in financial reporting, taxation, and forensic accounting to better serve clients in complex financial matters.

Continuing Education Notice

We do not approve CLE, CE, or CEU credits for our programs. Each professional is responsible for determining whether participation may qualify for continuing education credit within their own profession and jurisdiction and for self-reporting as appropriate.

Certificates are not issued for CCND trainings except for the 40-Hour Basic Family & Divorce Mediation Training and the Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice Training. For all other programs, no certificate of attendance will be provided.
