Attorney Snearly received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, cum laude, from Western Connecticut State University in 1990 and her Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law in 1995. Attorney Snearly practices exclusively in the areas of divorce mediation, collaboration, arbitration, and divorce litigation, and is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts. Attorney Snearly is one of the authors of this state’s best practices for mediators adopted by CCND (formerly CCDM). Attorney Snearly has achieved the status of Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” every year since 2008. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and past president of the Waterbury Bar Association. She has served as private Special Master by request for private attorneys and litigants as well as serving as a Special Master for the Family Regional Trial Docket, the Judicial Districts of Waterbury and in Litchfield, providing assessments of cases and settlement recommendations to attorneys and litigants. She has served as a Guardian ad Litem (“GAL”) and Attorney for the Minor Child (“AMC”) since 1996. In addition to her training in mediation and collaborative law, Attorney Snearly is a graduate of both the American Bar Association’s 2002 Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute and the ABA’s 2003 Advanced Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute. Attorney Snearly has lectured and taught family law in a variety of professional and academic settings. Her extensive training and experience in all aspects of family law has led her to one conclusion: mediation and collaboration provides the best solutions and outcomes for separating families. A native of Texas, she practices and resides in Southbury, CT with her husband.
