Topic
“Improving Outcomes for Families Through Structured Co-Parenting Communication” featuring Rebecca Perra from OurFamilyWizard to discuss the importance of structured communication and the importance of better communication ultimately leading to better outcomes for families; and how mediators can ethically and effectively reference communication platforms.
This 45-minute presentation is tailored for mediators seeking effective, neutral tools to manage communication in family cases. It explores how structured communication technology, such as OurFamilyWizard, can support the mediator’s role by reducing misunderstandings, increasing transparency, and helping parties stay focused on resolution. Attendees will learn how parents and family law practitioners use the platform to document communication, manage shared responsibilities, and create a reliable record without compromising mediator neutrality or confidentiality. The session will include practical examples of mediation agreements and court orders that incorporate platform use, along with a live demonstration of key features such as messaging, scheduling, expense tracking, and practitioner access. Mediators will leave with actionable strategies, sample language, and a clearer understanding of how integrating communication technology can streamline the mediation process, reduce impasse, and promote more durable agreements for families.
