CCND Lunch & Learn: Guardians of the Heart & Soul
About the Lunch & Learn
“Guardians of the Heart and Soul,” with speaker, Maureen Muller.
Maureen sees collaborative practitioners as “Guardians of the Heart and Soul,” and uses a somatic and trauma‑informed lens to understand how families, clients, and professionals experience conflict and transition. Drawing on the work of Gene Gendlin, Peter Levine, and Stephen Porges, she explains how the autonomic nervous system, neuroception, and trauma responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) shape trust, capacity, and decision‑making. The talk emphasizes regulation, presence, compassion, and co‑regulation as core professional skills that strengthen the collaborative container. By maintaining capacity and supporting repair after rupture, collaborative teams can safeguard emotional wellbeing, foster trust, and support healthier outcomes for families, professionals, and children.”
