Bio:

Ed has dedicated his entire legal career to helping families navigate the challenges of separation and divorce with dignity and respect. Based in Hartford, Ed is a family law attorney who focuses on solutions that reduce conflict and promote healthy post-divorce relationships.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he earned his J.D. and a Certificate in Tax Studies, Ed is a member of both the Connecticut and Hartford County Bar Associations. And he is a Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation’s James W. Cooper Fellows Program.

Ed is extensively trained in mediation and collaborative divorce and is an active member of the Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group and the Collaborative Divorce Lawyers Association of Greater Hartford. He also serves on the Professional Development Committee of the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce.

In addition to his collaborative work, Ed is a trained Guardian ad Litem (GAL) and Attorney for the Minor Child (AMC) in family matters. He was appointed by the Chief Court Administrator to the Standing Committee on GALs and AMCs and served as a faculty member for the state’s 20-hour preservice training program for new GALs and AMCs. Ed has been a court-appointed Special Master in multiple family courts and is a member of the Middlesex Judicial District Grievance Panel.

An educator as well as a practitioner, Ed has taught courses in Legal Aspects of Family Life and Child Welfare, Law, and Social Policy as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut. He frequently writes and presents on family law topics, including contributing to a chapter on marital agreements for MCLE’s A Practical Guide to Estate Planning in Connecticut, authoring an article for Family Lawyer Magazine on cryptocurrency and divorce, and leading a seminar on divorce in families with special needs children for the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce.

Ed brings a wealth of knowledge, a calm and constructive approach, and a commitment to helping clients reach fair, workable agreements without unnecessary conflict.
