An Intensive 1.5 Day Workshop onTransformative Mediation
Of the many approaches to mediation, the transformative approach is often considered the most desirable method for both resolving disputes and preventing future conflict, and yet is probably the most misunderstood. CCND is proud to sponsor an intensive training workshop by one of the nation’s leading advocates of this model.
The workshop begins with an explanation of transformative conflict theory, including the core concepts of empowerment and recognition. We will explain and explore the purpose of third party intervention from a transformative view. With a foundation in theory and purpose, we will concentrate on practical applications, learning skills and strategies to support empowerment and inter-party recognition. Through presentations, discussions, video analysis and actual exercises, participants will explore how a transformative approach might influence and elevate our current practices.
