Mr. Sheppard is the Managing Partner of Rolleri & Sheppard CPAS. LLP. Mr. Sheppard has extensive experience on family law matters including the following; interpretation of divorce decrees and separation agreements related to tax law, reconciliation and true up of annual alimony and child support treatment, interpretation of applicable language to tax law, and preparation of income tax returns and projections.
Mr. Sheppard is also Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). He applies his knowledge of forensics to divorce and separation matter disputes and mediation. He issues reports to clients with his findings of the relevant subject matter and also testifies in court when necessary.
Mr. Sheppard has consulted on thousands of divorce and separation matters over his 28 years of experience. Mr. Sheppard is a frequent author on divorce and family matters and is a resource for many family law attorneys who need consulting on tax law, financial matters and forensics.
Mr. Sheppard is the Chairman of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountant’s Professional Ethics Committee. In 2017 Mr. Sheppard was appointed as a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountant’s Advisory Council and had been previously nominated to serve on the Connecticut State Board of Accountancy.
Mr. Sheppard is a former Vice President of the Greenwich, CT chapter of the National Association of Divorce Professionals. He serves on the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountant’s Federal Income Taxation committee.
Mr. Sheppard was published in the December 2013 issue of the CPA Journal with his article titled “The Tax and Financial Implications of Divorce’·. Mr. Sheppard was also published in the CPA Journal in January of 2022 on ‘”Divorce and Taxation Issues”. In addition, he was also published in the October 2016 issue of the CPA Journal with his article titled “Partnership Abandonment”. He was also published in Bloomberg in 2021 on State and Local Tax deductions titled “The IRS Allows SALT Tax Deduction Work Around …. For Some.” And currently has an article pending with the CPA Journal on RSU issues related to divorce.
In 2023 Mr. Sheppard taught a nationally advertised and accredited course on the Tax Aspects of Divorce through Stafford Publishing.
He has lectured at several continuing education seminars including the Connecticut Bar Association, The Connecticut Exit Planning Exchange, and a variety of accredited courses, primarily focusing on issues affecting family law, tax law updates, and privately held companies.
Mr. Sheppard is a licensed CPA in New York and Connecticut. He is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Sheppard is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Connecticut Exit Planning Exchange.
Mr. Sheppard was appointed the 2012 & 2011 Co-Chair of the annual Not for Profit Organizations conference sponsored by the Connecticut State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is the treasurer and sits on the board of Sphere Networking, LLC. He is the treasurer and a board member of Operation Hope, Inc. (a Fairfield based nonprofit organization). He is also a board member for Classes 4 Classes, Inc. (a national nonprofit organization). He has testified in State court as an expert witness and has consulted on thousands of other cases.
