Non-Adversarial Divorce Services: Mediation, Collaborative Divorce
Collaborative Practice Group: DSC
Attorney Allisan Lee Adams has 30 years of experience providing legal services to individuals and families. In divorce cases, Allisan is passionate about helping couples reach a settlement agreement through one of two adversarial processes: mediation or collaboration. Both processes enable couples to take control of their future by resolving issues with the assistance of either a mediator or their collaboratively trained attorneys in a private setting. These processes allow the couple to avoid court-imposed orders so that the orders entered are those agreements that the parties themselves created. Allisan stresses upon the parties the influence these processes will have on allowing them to enter a new chapter of their lives in a positive, healthy manner spiritually. Through a holistic approach to divorce, she encourages couples to recognize that why they will no longer be a couple, they will always share a family. Allisan received her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law and a bachelor’s degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Wellesley College. She also studied at Amherst College, in Madrid, Spain and Lausanne, Switzerland. Allisan is admitted to practice in Connecticut. She has also handled cases in the United States District Court, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the United States District Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. She is also admitted to practice at the US Supreme Court.
