Louise has thirty years’ experience in Family Law, Estate and Probate Law, Labor and Employment and Small Businesses, Litigation, Mediation and Collaborative Law and is a former President of CCND. She is also a Special Master in New Haven Family court.
Louise graduated from New York Law School in 1985 and is admitted to the New York and Connecticut, State and Federal Courts. Louise is currently Partner at Biller, Sachs, Raio & Zito in Hamden, Connecticut. In addition, Louise is Principal of The Closesm, a Connecticut Family Mediation Training Group.
Louise is committed to helping resolve family disputes through the collaborative divorce and mediation processes convinced that they provide a positive structure for dispute resolution, help in transforming one family unit into two communicating, interacting units and foster self-determination in decision-making that results in little to no post-dissolution conflict.
Louise is a passionate advocate for her clients and believes deeply in interdisciplinary approaches to divorce either through collaboration or Co-mediation. She recently co-authored an article on Co-mediation in Divorce for the Connecticut Law Tribune.
Louise is also committed to providing quality training to attorneys, mental health professionals and financial specialists in Family Mediation and does so as a member of the Connecticut Family Mediation Training Group (CMFTG). CMFTG offers trainings yearly through CCND.
